Strijpen

Details

Interior design with quality and luxury in the leading role

This client contacted interior designer Shanaz Razik to furnish a penthouse apartment in Strijpen, near Zottegem. The brand new building in which this apartment is located looks beautiful on the outside. However, there was still a lot of work to be done on the interior. Numerous demolition and reconstruction works were therefore required to create an interior with quality and luxury in the leading role – the client’s two most important requirements. Only the existing parquet tiled floor remained intact. I followed up all these interventions in the interior from A to Z, because the client had absolutely no time for this himself, let alone knowledge. This is a service I offer to all my customers.

Green in all rooms

My interior concept for this apartment is based on contemporary black and warm white combined with walnut wood and stylish green. This well thought-out color palette is continued in every room. Up to the toilet, storage room and laundry, because the overall atmosphere must exude calm. A number of walls are executed in a special render technique, where it seems as if they are covered with fabric. In the bathroom, the fiberglass wallpaper stands out together with the olive green lacquered furniture. This daring combination brings new life to the bathroom, where today, after all, people are spending more and more time relaxing and escaping the hustle and bustle of their daily life.

Warm and cozy atmosphere

In the original layout this apartment had no entrance hall. You literally entered the living room first without any coziness of a home. I solved this by means of a beautiful slatted partition in walnut. This provides the necessary privacy and serves as storage for coats and shoes. I also provided this space with indirect lighting, because there was no lighting foreseen in the beginning. This lacked the necessary warmth in the entrance hall. The living room and dining area also enjoy a cozy atmosphere so that residents and visitors feel comfortable at any time of the day.

Interior made to measure for the client

Almost everything in this penthouse is made to measure according to the client’s wishes, right up to the vanity unit in the guest toilet. Also all accessories are specially chosen for the client, such as the liquid soap in the soap dispensers and “easy care” plants for this client who is not a staunch Gardner. The sofa in the living space has flexible seating that can be directed to all sides in the room, depending on the occasion. This allows the resident to lie comfortably in the sofa to watch television, but the it can also be flipped over for a party with friends or family. In the dining area I created a special hanging unit with a section for a whiskey collection, because the client is an avid lover. A real eye-catcher! I also took care of the existing kitchen.

Luxurious bedroom with a cool wink

The spacious bedroom and dressing room bathe in a warm light. The bed is fully custom made, with carefully selected unique upholstery. The wall against which the bed stands, has a tactile render, which creates a cozy atmosphere. At the same time, the industrial-looking night lights on both sides of the bed are a wink to the masculine side of the resident. The office room, too, is a space that makes an impression, especially through the custom-made furniture in walnut and black. A nice detail: there is a sofa bed in the office, so the room can also serve as a guest room.
