Sint-Goriks-Oudenhove

Details

Streamlined black and white with warm pastel = yes you can!

The owners of this house, a couple in their thirties with two children, contacted Shanaz Razik interior architect for a complete makeover of their interior. They have been living in their new home for about five years. The house is a beautiful modern built with a sleek and sober design by Denc Studio architects. Despite this the clients missed the cozy atmosphere and the warm feeling of a home. He dreamed of an interior in black and white with clean lines, while she preferred soft pastel colors and organic shapes … So it was my job to reconcile all preferences. A challenge that, as always, I accepted with great enthusiasm!

Creating a cozy home atmosphere

To bring the wishes of both partners together in one interior concept, I started from a color palette based on warm white, which fits perfectly with the existing wooden floor of the house. I then created the necessary accents with black, such as a number of contemporary black walls in the entrance hall or the kitchen. In some of the rooms I opted for striking details, such as the wallpaper in the children’s corner or the guest toilet. The right accessories in soft pastel shades (e.g. cushions, chairs, vases, towels…) give the interior a playful and cozy look. Exactly what the clients were looking for!

Sober foundation with bold accents

In the master bedroom I resolutely chose the colors black, white, pink and purple. Above the bed I worked with wallpaper that feels soft and transmits a subtle light in the evening. In the bathroom, the eye-catching fiberglass wallpaper on the shower and bath makes all the difference. While this used to be a standard white tiled bathroom without any outstanding features, now a warm pink ‘oasis’ is created where it’s great to stay. The interplay of lines in the hallway between the bedroom, dressing room and bathroom also comes much better into its own through the placement of new curtains that connect the rooms. All small, sometimes slightly ‘bold’ details that give an extra personal touch to the interior of this house.

Complete project with great attention to detail

Interior Architect Shanaz Razik was responsible for the entire interior design of this house, from the design and choice of materials to the final selection and placement of accessories and decorative elements such as flowers and cushions. I didn’t leave any detail to chance and I made sure that the clients didn’t have to deal with this themselves. The result of this project is an interior that exudes tranquility, comfort and serenity in every room, and where the residents get a comfortable feeling of home. A complete interior with the details finished to a notch!
